The Muse
A few years ago, 5 to be exact, my dear friend Steve saw a drawing I had made for a school project. His reaction was beyond anything I could understand. Loved it! Imagine that.
He asked if he could use it for an edition of his Thalia wine brand. My immediate reaction was NO way! The image is personal to me. I softened and asked if he’d be open to me creating something new. (You can find her manifestation, Thalia wine at www.kolonakigroup.com or at most LCBOs)
And so my journey into discovering the artist within me began to unfold.
Thalia, means ‘the joyous, the flourishing.’ She is the goddess of comedy and poetry.
The muse of musings.
My own communication and expression has been up until now, far from poetic and light-heartedly humourous.
As I mined the shadows of life, I often found myself withholding the truths of my deepest experiences and sensations. On the path of discrete dishonesties, where pain, shame, and vulnerabilities seep out in unhealthy and unconscious directions.
The muse of musings.
Thalia came to me last January through this piece you see below. She has been coming to me and I have been ignoring her. Afraid of what she would illuminate. When I surrender to her, she shows me deeply loving and compassionate ways to be with the multidimensional truths of who I am. It has been a painfully uncomfortable process for me.
One which has emerged both a range of joy and sorrow I didn’t know I was capable of transmuting.
The way of the muse.
Something perhaps we can all use a little more of in our lives.
How can you approach your communication with yourself and others with brushstrokes of humour and a little artful poetic prose?
I’d love to hear your perspectives in the comments below.

The Muse
The muse imbibes her self into your soul. Expressing her beauty, power and strength.
Moving through. Silent.
Vibrating. Beating.
Meaningful essential nature of who you are in the landscape of the vineyard of harvest manifest.
You are water churning the hopes and dreams of lineages.
The pain and the grief,
the muse transforms into majesty and Spirit.
You are nurturing.
The resonance of time is on your side. Care for the intentions which you illuminate.
Drunk with emotion and laughter. Warmth fills the fields of consciousness.
Prune the branches and rise.
Raise your glass to freedom for all. Raise your glass to peace for all. Raise your glass to compassion for all. Raise your glass to love for all. Raise your glass to joy for all. Raise your glass to acceptance for all.
Raise your glass to life.
